Teardown: Black Shark BRC02 Magnetic Cooling Wireless Charger

The BRC02 pairs 25W magnetic wireless charging with a TEC cooler, Southchip SC96019 and SC8723 silicon, and a turbofan blowing across metal fins.

Black Shark's BRC02 magnetic cooling wireless charger combines a 25W magnetic wireless charging pad with a TEC semiconductor cooler on a single board. Rated input spans 5V/3A to 15V/3A for 45W maximum, wireless output steps through 5W, 7.5W, 10W, 15W and 25W, and the cooling module plus turbofan draw up to 7W.

The unit measures about 65.67 mm in diameter and 21.89 mm thick, weighs roughly 90.6 g and ships with a 150 cm USB-C cable. Dual-sided magnets hold a phone on one face and an optional stand on the other for desk or car use. A side button drives RGB lighting and switches between charging-plus-cooling and cooling-only modes on a three-second press, with a claimed minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius.

Inside, a Litz-wound wireless coil sits above the TEC pellet module, marked S02 071 Arctic GA 28, with blue thermal grease applied on both faces and an NTC thermistor on the cold side to prevent icing. Metal fins and a turbofan, fed through a two-pin connector, remove the heat.

The white PCBA uses Southchip's SC8723 four-switch synchronous buck-boost in QFN22, rated 2.7-22V input, 3-22V output, 10A inductor current limit, 250 kHz to 1 MHz switching and programmable current limit. A JoulWatt JW5359 18V/2A synchronous buck in SOT23-6 handles auxiliary rails at up to 95 percent efficiency.

Wireless charging is driven by Southchip's SC96019, a Qi2.2 SoC in FCQFN32 supporting WPC 2.2 up to 25W, multi-channel ASK demodulation, 3.0-20V input, Q-factor foreign-object detection and UVLO/OVP/OCP/OTP protection. The board also carries a resonant-capacitor switching MOSFET marked QGL0714AD, NPO resonant capacitors, an unmarked logic MCU and an LM358 op-amp.
