NEWSAishi Capacitors Take Key Roles in Honor Magic8 90W Charger

A teardown of the Honor Magic8's bundled 90W super fast charger, model HN-200450C02, has identified four electrolytic capacitors supplied by Aishi Group. Three of them sit in the post-rectification high-voltage filter, while a fourth serves the primary-side controller supply.
The charger is rated for up to 20V/4.5A, or 90W, and also supports an 11V/6A fast-charge mode for Honor's flagship phones. On the high-voltage side the design uses three Aishi aluminium electrolytic capacitors: one 400V 22 uF part and two 400V 33 uF parts, giving a combined 88 uF of bus capacitance for the 90W flyback power stage.
That capacitor bank filters the rectified DC bus and stores energy for the downstream power stage. At 90W output the bus must feed the main conversion stage continuously while absorbing input and load transients, so capacitance, voltage rating, ripple current capability and long-term reliability all matter at this node.
The fourth part identified is a 120V 10 uF Aishi electrolytic capacitor used for filtering and energy storage in the primary controller supply, providing a stable working rail for the primary-side control IC. Taken together, the four parts form a multi-rating capacitor set covering both the high-voltage main power input path and the control supply node.
Key points
- Honor Magic8 charger model HN-200450C02: up to 20V/4.5A (90W), plus an 11V/6A mode
- High-voltage filter uses one 400V 22 uF plus two 400V 33 uF capacitors, 88 uF total
- Three Aishi capacitors filter the bus and store energy for the 90W flyback stage
- A fourth Aishi part, rated 120V 10 uF, feeds the primary controller supply
