The mophie unit examined here carries model ESS-PSP-10K and is rated 10,000mAh / 37Wh at 3.7V. Its built-in cables and its USB-C port list the same output set of 5V/3A, 9V/2.22A and 12V/1.67A, while simultaneous output drops to 5V/3A. Rated capacity is 5,500mAh at 5V/3A, with a stated energy conversion efficiency of 70%.
The teardown measures the body at 90.30 x 63.23 x 23.72 mm and 192.3g. The packaging lists USB-C PD 20W output, dual-port charging from the built-in cable, a compact footprint and a two-year warranty among the main selling points.
Protocol testing found the USB-C port supports QC3+, FCP, SCP, AFC, PD3.0/PPS, DCP and Apple 2.4A, and the built-in cable supports PD3.0, DCP and Apple 2.4A. PDO reports show 5V/3A, 9V/2.22A and 12V/1.67A fixed voltages plus a 3.30-11.00V/2A PPS range on both paths.
Internally, two 5,000mAh cells rated 3.7V and 18.5Wh each sit alongside the mainboard. The power-bank SoC is an IP5356, rated for up to 22.5W synchronous boost and four-port control covering USB-C, two USB-A and Micro-USB, needing only a single inductor for both the buck and boost paths.
Battery protection comes from an XB8886A single-cell IC in SOP8-PP with an integrated power MOS of roughly 8.5mΩ equivalent on-resistance, and output filtering uses a 25V/100µF solid-state capacitor. The result is a compact BOM with consistent protocol support across both USB-C paths.
Key points
- 10,000mAh / 37Wh, 5,500mAh rated at 5V/3A, 70% conversion efficiency
- Built-in cable and USB-C port share identical PD3.0 20W output sets
- IP5356 SoC: 22.5W boost, four-port control, single inductor design
- XB8886A protection IC with ~8.5mΩ integrated power MOS
