NEWSUFCS Becomes a Communications Industry Standard in China from 2027
MIIT has approved YD/T 7519-2026 and YD/T 7520-2026, moving UFCS from a group standard to a communications industry standard effective January 1, 2027.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued announcement No. 23 of 2026 on August 18, 2026, approving two communications industry standards: YD/T 7519-2026 for converged fast charging technical requirements and YD/T 7520-2026 for the corresponding test methods. Both take effect on January 1, 2027.
The move upgrades UFCS from a group standard to a communications industry standard. UFCS is China's self-developed converged fast charging technology; its first group standard appeared in 2021, and a second-stage requirements version followed in 2025, alongside completed wireless charging group standards that together form a wired and wireless framework. ITU-T L.1004 has also carried the technology into ITU global standards.
Certified product numbers show the scale of the ecosystem. As of the end of August, 316 UFCS-certified products from 49 companies had been recorded: 104 phones, 16 tablets, 2 notebooks, 1 wireless data terminal, 100 chargers, 12 power banks, 6 sockets and 75 chip products.
Use is spreading beyond consumer electronics. A 30 W UFCS wall socket developed for business lounges has been deployed at twenty transport hubs in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen; shared UFCS charging equipment covers 15 provinces in ride-hailing use; and mobile charging stations have been piloted at trade shows.
For accessory makers, the two standards unify technical specifications and test pass or fail rules. That should push terminals, accessories and chip makers toward common development requirements, lower adaptation costs across the supply chain and bring more products into the UFCS ecosystem.
