Teardown: Xiaomi 45W Magnetic Power Bank Adopts GB 47372

The WPB1026S keeps a 13.2mm aluminium body and adds compulsory 3C certification, with two ATL cells, a CPW3261 PD controller and a 30W Qi stage.

China's mandatory power bank standard GB 47372-2026 was published on 31 March 2026, moving the category into compulsory 3C certification; uncertified units may not leave the factory. Xiaomi, one of the drafting companies, has migrated its Jinsha River magnetic line; model WPB1026S replaces WPB1025S, with changes centred on certification and packaging.

The body is a one-piece aluminium shell 13.21mm thick and 195.4g, at 102.05 by 70.56mm. Battery rating is 10000mAh at 36.77Wh (7.58V, 4850mAh), with USB-C input of 5V/3A, 9V/3A and 12V/2.5A. Wired output reaches 45W at 20V/2.25A, wireless covers 5W, 7.5W, 15W and 20W, with combined use capped at 15W.

A POWER-Z KM003C test shows PD3.2, PPS at 5-11V/4.1A, Xiaomi steps at 9-20V/3.0A and 2.25A, QC3.0, FCP, SCP, AFC and Apple 2.4A. Charging an iPhone 18 Pro drew 15.08V at 2.98A, or 44.86W. The bundled short cable carries an HP9610B eMarker rated 20V/5A.

Inside, two ATL 436678B cells of 4850mAh, 3.79V and 18.39Wh sit in series, each CCC-marked. The top board uses a CPW3261 USB-C and PD controller with a 48MHz 32-bit core, 128KB flash and 24KB SRAM, plus PPM8PN02R8 VBUS switches (-20V, 5.6mOhm) and PSM8PN03R4 buck-boost FETs (30V, 4.3mOhm).

The wireless path uses a WB8128 30W Qi transmitter supporting Qi2.2, MPP and Samsung profiles, 3.3-24V input and foreign-object detection, paired with a CPS1010 authentication chip carrying SHA256 and ECC. An SC8723 four-switch buck-boost converts 2.7-22V to 3-22V at up to 3.5A into four full-bridge FETs, and an HK51BS handles touch input.

The standard requires queryable status: connected to a PC, the official page reports remaining capacity, battery health, cycle count, per-cell voltage and temperature. That telemetry, not the power path, is where this revision differs from its predecessor.

Key points

  • GB 47372-2026 published 31 March 2026; power banks need 3C to ship
